Ross Cooper
ONEINTHREE
Ross Cooper is a director celebrated for his visual humor, charming characters, impressive transitions, clever post-production effects & even cleverer practical-in-camera-ones. Writing, previz, editing & compositing, Ross demonstrates expertise across the entire production process. Above all, he LOVES ideas. Whether you have a great one or one that needs nurturing, he'd love to help you out.
A Central Saint Martins and Royal College of Art grad, where he invented the Chronoramic camera, that captures time, not space. He has since won 2 Silvers, a Graphite, & plenty of Wood pencils, a Gold from the Art Directors Club of Europe, & a BAFTA nom. His work has been exhibited at galleries including the Tokyo Met, the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts & Australia’s ACMI.
On set, Ross excels at directing talent of all kinds—children, celebs, actors, & animals. With the story at the heart of his work, he brings out the best in his performers, ensuring they fully convey the idea. Ross's ability to connect with actors & communicate the vision results in convincing, natural performances that truly bring the story to life.
When not directing, Ross indulges his wide-ranging passions from Japanese joinery to cooking elaborate feasts for his friends. His dedication to craft brings joy & inspiration to his life & those around him. Just ask about that diamond with a scratch, the Mexican wrestling tree branch, the 3rd nurse, or the dog that begged to be arrested.
